Meet The Team!

Whether it’s family, old friends, or someone new, Dwayne loves to spend time with people! Getting to know their stories, sharing life with them, having fun and being there for them right where they are. You would be shocked to know that as a kid, he was actually super shy; but with God’s call and through God’s strength, Dwayne came to love connecting with people of all walks of life and sharing the love of Jesus with them. His family now lovingly refer to him as the “golden retriever” of the family — always happiest when he’s surrounded by others!

His favourite snacks are Kit Kat bars and ketchup chips! He’s savvy for grocery shopping: always hunting for the best deals; and he’s a fixer: never being able to rest if something needs repairs. He’s not very techy, preferring to write most things down on paper, and usually enlists someone else to do his PowerPoints. One of Pastor Dwayne’s quirks is that he likes writing to-do lists, and will even add things he’s already done, JUST to cross them off!

Dwayne graduated from Eastern Pentecostal Bible College in 1996 with a Bachelor of Theology in Christian Education. He has pastored in Embree (1996-99) - Youth/Assistant pastor, North West Brook (1999-2004) – Lead Pastor, New Wes Valley (2004-2011) – Lead Pastor, then back to Embree (2011-2022) – Lead Pastor. Dwayne began his ministry here at Bethel in September 2022.

Dwayne has been married to the love of his life (and better half), Tina, since 1994! They have loved sharing in life and ministry together ever since. Tina has also served alongside Dwayne in Embree as an Outreach/Assistant Pastor (2012-2022). She is a close trusted friend to those who are around her, and someone that people know they can confide in. Her favourite snacks are salt and vinegar Crispers, and popcorn: which she has a bag of almost every day!

Dwayne and Tina are ‘empty nesters’ now, but have two grown children who have been their greatest joy - Emily (Jared) and Joey (Chloe). They love to spend time in the great outdoors - hiking, hunting, fishing, and there’s nothing like a good lunch and cup of tea on an open fire! He may not tell you, but he’s also a great woodworker and they both enjoy a day off in the workshop together.
